Wednesday joined the redhead and the other blonde. "How are we doing over here?" she asked, grinning at the two kids.

Kerry was trying hard not to appear too . . . interesting. Professor Douglas was really cute, and it was kind of making Kerry uncomfortable. "I'm good, Professor," he said. Turning to Raven, he asked, "If you wanna lock first, that's good." Kerry looked toward Annie and the new girl. "I think we got a good shot on this."

Kerry was gibbering at this point. He nodded to the door. "Go ahead."

With her wand out, Raven was about to get down to business, "I don't have any complaints 'bout lockin first." She leaned in as she looked apolegetically over at Annie then had a evil glare over at the girl who was on her last nerve, "We do have a great shot at this, but I'm a little worried that ya snoggin buddy over there might not be so lucky."

Not waiting to see what his reaction was, she looked at her door, pointed her wand at it, and said, "Colloportus Lumos."

Hearing the door lock shut Kerry smiled. "Way to go, Raven," he said. "You must get a lot of practice at home." He glanced over to his "snoggin' buddy" and thought Annie might have a bit of a problem. Still, it's early, he thought. Maybe she'll finish quickly.

It was on Kerry, however, to open the door. He looked over the wand movements and memorized the incantation. Unlike what he started to do in Transfigurations, he decided give it a good once-over, then go for it.

Okay, lets do it. He positioned his wand and flicked it as he said, "Alohamora."

When nothing happened Kerry didn't let it bother him. It took him four tries to transfigure, and he had plenty of time to get it right.

But he didn't want to take forever doing it. Raven was done and he didn't want to make her wait for him--not that she had to.

On to Numba 2, he thought. Flick and . . . "Alohamora."

Nothing happened when Kerry attempted to unlock the door. Raven felt bad that he didn't get it on his first or second attempt, but then again, most students don't. "That's ok, Kerry, try it again, I have confidence that you'll get it this time."

Raven encouraged him the same way Cameron encouraged her.

Kerry smile when Raven told him he'd get it next time. "Hey, can't be good first thing at everything," he said. Though he knew he was gonna be pissed if he stood here forever trying to unlock the door.

I really want to do this, he thought. I would love to lock and unlock doors all over the house . . . like magic!

"Third time is the charm, right?" he said, wincing at his own pun. And with that--"Alohamora."

The lock moved this time. It didn't pop open, but it did jiggle. This is starting to feel like Transfiguration class, he thought.

Glancing over he saw Annie standing aside while her partner worked on unlocking the door. At least I'm not alone in not getting it first time.

It was then he checked out the diagram. Hummmmm . . . his wand motion didn't match up exactly, and Kerry sort of figured that might have something to do with his failure. The last time I pointed more, so this time . . ..

Point, he grinned then said it: "Alohamora."

    Nothing.

Okay, so 4 isn't he magic number. Kerry knew, one week in, not everything was going to rock like he'd rocked things so far. Just wait until I start growing stuff, he thought. Now there's a disaster.

No point in getting concerned, though. This was going to be a long class, and he had all day.

And he'd unlock this before the day--ur, class, was out.

Point and shoot, dude. And . . . "Alohamora."

Again the jiggle. For a moment Kerry thought it was gonna pop, and while it didn't, it emboldened him. It's like right there; all it needs is a little push.

And Kerry knew this time was gonna be that push.

    Point and--"Alohamora."

Again with the jiggle. Kerry knew it was right there, right on the edge of the lock. It wants to go, but . . . what? He wasn't trying hard enough? Or trying too hard?

That was what sort of burned him in Transfiguration; trying to hard. Over thinking. Just relax, man. Relax and let it flow. This is it. It will happen.

Deliberately he pointed the wand at the door and held it for a moment before saying, "Alohamora."

For just one tiny moment Kerry thought the lock was gonna pop, but it almost did and . . . didn't. Man, it is so close, he thought. He didn't want to get excited, but he couldn't help himself.

Stop thinking of charms as something too easy. He stepped back, contemplating the door. Magic ain't easy; stop acting like it is. Just step up and do it, and see it happening--

As he got ready he heard Raven say something softly about "Lucky 7". "Yep, it is," Kerry answered, and he pointed his wand at the door.

    "Alohamora."

Okay, so no lucky 7, but there was eight and nine, and Kerry would take anything Japan and China might throw his way. It's not that I can't do it, he thought. It's that I can not not do it.

"So lets just," he said, and pointed his wand at the lock.

    "Alohamora."

Raven waited a bit so Kerry could rest for a minute before she suggested, "you want me to manually lock the door so I can try to unlock it, or do you want to lock it and then for me to unlock it?"

Feeling on top of the world at the moment, Kerry shook his head. "I think I got this one," he told Raven. "You set the bar; I gotta see if I can kick it."

Kerry gave the locking charm wand movement a good looking over. It didn't seen overly complicated--but then pointing a wand at a lock to get it open doesn't seem that hard either, he thought.

No problem. Kerry tried it out a couple of times, then walked over to the locked, set his motion, and iterated: "Colloportus."

This time the lock jiggled right off the bat. It didn't lock, but the fact it did something encouraged Kerry. "Well, things are looking up a bit," he told Raven. "That's better than trying to unlock it."

Kerry felt good about doing it. Like with the other classes he was getting a bit of a high over doing real magic, and when it worked--that was, in of itself, magic.

Kerry set and said, "And with a wave of the wand--" He did the motion. "Colloportus."

Kerry stepped aside to watch Annie's door, and saw the girl with her literally screaming the spell at the lock. After a few tries like that there was a HUGE flash followed by a quick snap!

Kerry turned away reflectively; when he looked back the lock was smoking.

He couldn't help but cut loose with a small laugh.

Raven chuckled when Isobella's lock exploded, but her attention was elsewhere when Kerry locked the door. "Nice one, Kerry," she congratulated, "now it's my turn."

Just as before, Raven pointed her want to the door and said, "Alohamora."

The door lock jiggled a few times, but in the end, it didn't unlock. She looked over at Kerry and shrugged, "can't be good at everythin." It didn't bother her, like some people, she just had to focus more, just to pass the class.

Again, she pointed her wand at the door."Alohamora."

The lock turned about half way before it stopped and relocked again. This door really is somethin, she though, I really thought I had it too.

She stopped what she was doing to give herself time to breath. She reevaluated what she was doing wrong and attempted to do it correctly.

Raven fixed her stance, pointed to the door again, and with more energy casted the charm. "Alohamora!"

<<OOC: I LOVE the god of the dice>>

With the door unlocked, she gave herself time to rest as she contemplated doing the extra credit. I may not be one for potions, but charms and transfigurations are somethin I'm really good at. She looked around the room and saw that Lina had attempting the extra credit charms. If she's doin it, I guess I'll do it too, besides, I got a lot pf points taken away lately, I don't want another reason for Kishna ta be pissed at me.

She stood straight up and patted Kerry on the shoulder, "You should do the extra credit stuff to show off to your lady." Winking at him, she trotted a ways from him to attempt the extra credit spells.

Guess I'll do the easiest one first.

    "Lumos."

Raven's wand flickered a few times and when she thought it would stay lit...it died out. That's ok, it could be worse, her eyes fell on Annie, I could be in Annie's spot. She couldn't help but feel sorry for her, if I was in her shoes, I would have punch the coyote by now.

Putting her mind back in place, she started to pump herself up, "You can do this," she whispered, "or your name ain't Raven Michelle Bobbi-Lyn Whitefeather!" Pointing her wand up, she exclaimed, "Lumos!"

Her wand flickered a few time then started to die. Only when she thought she would have to try again, did her wand stay lit. I really do love magic, and that thought made the tip of her wand glow even brighter. When she felt that she had it lit long enough did she lower her wand. Ok, I lost a total of 30 points and with this, I gained 10, so I have ta get 20 more...somehow.

She really didn't want to do the Orchideous Charm for several reasons:
    1. she doesn't like flowers
    2. she really doesn't like flowers
    3. she hates flowers with a passion
    4. the only flower that she kind of liked now reminded her of her hatred of her coven head

Why in the Heck am I ta do all this extra work for any way?, she had to think long and hard for the answer before it hit her like a bag of bricks, oh yeah, so she would finally leave me alone.

Raven looked at her wand as she contemplated doing the charm or not. Raven tried her hardest to avoid her coven head for the past few days, and it seemed like Kishna was doing the same. Since that day in Transfigurations, Raven hated to be around the Mistress of that said class, which made going to the tower and meal time extremely awkward.

Raven would spend as much time away from her coven tower as much as possible. Once inside of her coven's tower, she would get up and leave every time Kishna decided to go into the Commons, or she would look down or else where if she couldn't get away fast enough. She would even run as fast as she can past Kishna's office just to avoid being stopped by her.

At every meal time, Raven would think too much about how Kishna was ruining her life at school that she lose her appetite about 5 big bites into whatever was prepared, and every time she thought about how much food she was wasting, her appetite dropped even further to the point where she would go into a bad coughing spell (OOC: it's a nervous tick). The few times that she actually ate her food was when her brothers were there to distract her from her over-thinking.

I really don't see a reason for me to do any extra work than to get her off my back. It wan't until she thought about how hard her brothers and Petra worked to get points for the coven only for her to lose them. Raven gave a small cough, it's only 3 tries, then I'm done. If I get it, that's great, if not, I tried.

Finally looking up, she pointed her wand out and whispered the charm, "Orchideous."
