“Come on, I wannna know!” Raven badgered her eldest brother for the umpteenth time. From the time they were in the Commons back at Cerdiwen Tower all the way to the Great Hall, she kept on pestering him with the same question over and over.

“And I told you, don’t worry about it.” Cameron replied, obviously getting annoyed at his sister’s persistence.

“I’ll stop askin if you’ll just tell me,” she persisted.

“How bout after the try-outs, I’ll take you flying?” he bargained.

With Cameron bargaining with his sister, Raven jumped on it without a second thought, “it’s a deal; if I don’t ask ya anymore, you’ll take me flyin.” She held out her pinky finger. The eldest Whitefeather boy linked his pinky with hers, completing the promise.

They finally made it to the Dining Hall and met up with their other two brothers. With the four of them sitting together, you could tell the slight differences between their appearance and accent. Although all four of them were blonde haired and blue eyed, Raven and Leigh have the same light golden blonde hair color, Kelly has ash blonde hair, and Cameron has light sandy blonde hair. Surprisingly, the four of them have the same mix between a cerulean and sky blue colored eyes. When they talked, you could tell that Kelly had the thickest accent of lot; Leigh was next with a subtler accent, Cameron had the subtlest accent of the four of them, and Raven keeps going in and out of her level of thickness.

With the siblings finishing up their breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast, Kelly finally spoke up, “So, ya care ta tell us why you ain’t tryin-out for the team this year?” He was being completely nonchalant about the question, but you could tell that there was something in his voice that suggested that he wasn’t thrilled with Cameron’s decision.

There was a slight awkward silence when the younger two stopped what they were doing to look up at their older brothers. Cameron looked completely pissed off that Kelly put him on the spot. “As I’ve told you already, don’t worry bout it.”

“Does Ma and Pa know about it?” he challenged.

“What if I said they don’t?” Cameron countered.

“If it was ‘cause ya didn’t make captain, then ya just let the engine's runnin' but ain't nobody driving.”

The two of them continued to challenge each other, Leigh leaned in so only Raven could hear when he whispered, “they’ve been like that since Cameron told us he wasn’t going to play this year. And, before you ask, yes, I know the reason why.”

“So, you going to tell me?” she whispered back.

“That’s for Cameron to tell,” he winked. “And it ain’t like he’s just quittin altogether; he’s going to see if he could try out to be a sub, you know, just incase somethin’ happens to one of the other players, he could fill in.”

“Uh hua,” Raven uttered as she took another bite of her toast.

“You going out for the team?” Leigh asked.

Raven rolled her eyes; now weather it was from her brother’s question or from her other’s brother’s pitiful argument. “You remember what happened the last time I was on a broom, right? I haven’t been back on a broom since.”

Leigh laughed a bit, “That was your first time; it really wasn’t that bad.”

“I fell 20 feet on to my arm.”

“And I ran into the lone tree at home, you’re point bein?”

“I’ll just watch ya this year, then, next year when I’m better, I’ll try out.” With that being said, Raven was finished with her food. “Besides, Cameron promised that he’ll take me flyin after tryouts are done.”

“If you say so.” Leigh, who was long since finished with his breakfast rustled Raven’s braided hair, and slightly louder, said, “Come on, Rae, let’s head out to the pitch.” He eyed his brothers, “When you’re done arguin’, meet us there.”
