Annie watched their professor leave with her wand and turned her attention back to the potion. At that moment, she felt conflicted. She was positive the spell worked, but it wasn’t quite the same effect as a charms spell.
I guess the proof will be in the administering, she thought and shrugged.
She returned her potion to the heat, careful to bring it back up to a simmer. When the tiny bubbles began to break the surface, she added her hillwick extract and went to town, stirring in a counterclockwise direction for fifteen seconds.
When the time was up, she sat back and smiled at a job well done. There was nothing left to do but to wait out the last ten minutes and hope nothing burned.
As the time wound down, Annie removed her potion from the heat, careful not to spill it, and waited the necessary time for it to cool to room temperature. While she waited, she pulled out the latest issue of the Quibbler.
As she finished the curious article about the attack on Hogwarts and time turners, she realized her potion was probably at the correct temperature for bottling. Slowly, she peered over the rim of her cauldron…
