While some schools consider Apparition an optional, not for credit course (requiring some student to pay for the privilege of attending), the Salem Witches' Institute sees Apparition as an important part of every wizard and witch's life and feels it should be treated with the same importance as any subject on the curriculum.

Apparition is a mandatory subject for all 4th through 6th Year students. The course is taught in the Graymanor Corridor located on the Third Floor of the East Transept. 4th Years begin their studies here, learning the basics of apparition by moving about in a controlled manor throughout not only the classroom, but the Great Hall as well. 5th and 6th Years expand upon this ability by learning to apparate about the Institute grounds, and, then, to locations beyond the Institute's walls.

It should be noted that each student will be assigned a "learner's permit" allowing them to apparate at their learned level. Students found abusing their abilities will find their privileges revoked, and the prospect of additional punishment likely.
